The focus:
Employing the event concept to implement multitasking, above all, in multi-microprocessor systems. The idea of running programs when events happen has been taken literally, so to speak, and implemented in a straight way. This is in contrast to the principles of operation as pioneered by  Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center and implemented in OS/2, Windows, and other operating systems.
